“An iconoclastic and disturbing work”.Diego Rojas, Infobae
In collaboration with the Autumn Festival of the Region of Madrid, the Reina Sofia Museum presents, for the first time in Spain, Escorpión y Félix (Scorpion and Felix) by La Columna Durruti, a maverick performance collective based in Buenos Aires. The session begins with a conversation between the founders of the collective, Emilio García Wehbi and Maricel Álvarez, and the curator and researcher Isabel de Naverán, where they discuss the Trilogía de La Columna Durruti (2015-2017) and other works by the collective, through texts, films, objects, publications and actions. It is followed by a performance of Scorpion and Felix (2018) based on the only work of fiction ever written by Karl Marx: Scorpion and Felix. A Humoristic Novel (1837). In line with the nonconformist attitude of La Columna Durruti, this piece seeks to provoke, on the basis of action, reflections that question the present.
